Tattoo Regret? Laser Tattoo Removal has Never Been Easier

Whether it was an act of rebellion or a symbol that seemed to suit your mood or attitude at the time, you’re not alone if you wish you had thought about your future self before getting your permanent tattoo. But thanks to advances in medical technology, your tattoo no longer has to be a constant reminder of your impulsive, younger self.

Here at Mrudangi Thakur Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, PC, under the leadership of board-certified plastic surgeon Mrudangi Thakur, MD, we offer many techniques to erase the regrettable ink from your skin, including two of the most effective laser tattoo removal systems. No tattoo is too big, too colorful, or too old for us to remove.

Regrets? You’re not alone

Tattoos have certainly become a popular way for people to express themselves. It’s estimated that about 45 million Americans have one or more tattoos decorating their skin. But one out every four or those with a tattoo — that’s more than 10 million people — regret getting their skin inked.

Maybe you’ve been tossing around all the ways you can cover up your tattoo, from makeup to clothing, or even a new piece of tattoo art to cover up the old. Maybe you’ve even thought about laser tattoo removal, but you’ve heard stories that even after enduring numerous painful treatments it may still leave you with a faded constant reminder of that tattoo you wished you had never gotten in the first place.

Well, we have news for you. We have two of the most advanced laser tattoo removal systems, including Cynosure® and Cutera®, and we can remove all remnants of your tattoo without causing you any more pain than your tattoo artist did.

Laser tattoo removal

When it comes to options for removing your tattoo, laser removal is one of the safest. The heat energy created by the laser targets the pigment under your skin breaks it into tiny pieces, and your body then processes and eliminates the pieces, leaving you with your natural, uninked skin.

The laser tattoo systems here at Mrudangi Thakur Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, PC, have varying wavelengths of energy and can remove even the most brightly colored tattoo.

Unfortunately, while it may have taken only a few hours for the tattoo artist to decorate your skin, you may require a few laser tattoo removal sessions to remove the artwork. How many sessions depends on the size, location, age, and ink type of your tattoo, but each session only takes about 10 minutes.

And as far as discomfort, most of our patients tell us that laser tattoo removal causes about the same amount of pain as when they got their tattoo. But unlike your tattoo artist, we can apply a numbing agent before we start treatment to keep your discomfort to a mere minimum.

Beyond laser tattoo removal

While tattoo laser removal is the safest way to get rid of unwanted skin art, it’s not the only way we can remove your tattoo. Dr. Thakur is an experienced plastic surgeon who knows how to get you the look you want. In addition to laser tattoo removal, we can also surgically remove your tattoo. But while surgical removal is the quickest way to get rid of your tattoo, we only recommend this procedure for smaller tattoos.

You don’t have to live your life with regrets, even if that regret is a permanent tattoo. We can get rid of your unwanted ink with advanced tattoo laser removal that can erase even the most colorful skin art.
