Improve Your Face and Skin Laxity With FaceTite

Mrudangi Thakur Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery PC

Middle age can be one of the best times in life — having more candles on your birthday cake usually means you’re more experienced, you’ve learned to trust your own instincts, and you feel more confident and comfortable in your own skin than ever before.

Unfortunately, having more candles on your cake can also leave your skin looking a little worse for the wear. Starting in your mid-to-late 30s (or in your early 40s if you have good genes), your body’s collagen and elastin levels begin to decline substantially.

Because these are the main proteins that give your skin its structure and shape, you may start to notice that your skin appears a bit looser, saggier, and more wrinkled with each passing year.

Not long ago, facelift surgery was the only way to tighten loose skin and restore a smoother, more youthful complexion. But thanks to continuing advances in aesthetic medicine, minimally invasive skin tightening is now an easy, safe, and highly effective option for anyone who wants to turn back the hands of time without having to go under the knife.

Here at Mrudangi Thakur Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery PC in Jefferson Valley, New York, we’re pleased to offer FaceTite, a minimally invasive “one-step mini facelift” that tightens your skin from the inside out. Here’s how it works.

FaceTite skin tightening basics

FaceTite is a fully customizable skin tightening and facial contouring system designed to tighten mild to moderate skin laxity along your lower face, neck, and jowl, improve your chin profile, and redefine your face.

Through a state-of-the-art handheld device, FaceTite uses advanced radiofrequency-assisted lipolysis (RFAL) to liquify subcutaneous fat cells, while delivering controlled, uniform heat to the deepest layers of your skin. These energy waves cause a deep thermal reaction that simultaneously liquifies unwanted fat cells and triggers an increased production of collagen and elastin.

After just one FaceTite treatment, you’ll see remarkably tighter, smoother skin and a rejuvenated facial profile that takes years off your appearance.

A safe, easy, and gentle procedure

As a minimally invasive treatment, FaceTite is an in-office procedure that only requires an oral sedative and a local anesthetic to keep you comfortable from start to finish.

The oral sedative ensures you don’t feel any pain or discomfort when Dr. Thakur makes three tiny incisions on each side of your face: along the crease in front of your ear, behind your earlobe, and under your chin. These incisions are so small they can be closed with surgical glue instead of stitches, and they won’t leave any discernible scars.

The local anesthetic — a numbing fluid that’s injected under your skin — helps ensure you don’t feel any discomfort during the procedure itself.

The FaceTite device looks something like a narrow, V-shaped probe. The cannula, which is the thinner side of the probe, is the part that Dr. Thakur inserts under your skin. The wider side of the probe, which is called the electrode, sits on the surface of your skin.

When Dr. Thakur passes the device through the treatment area in a gentle, continuous motion, radiofrequency (RF) energy flows between the internal cannula and the external electrode.

The heat generated around the tip of the cannula liquifies fat cells and triggers deep collagen and elastin remodeling, while the heat generated around the electrode stimulates external collagen renewal and contraction.

This intense and highly directed RF energy is closely regulated by real-time computer measurements of your skin temperature, fat temperature, and tissue impedance, making the treatment exceptionally safe.

Beautiful results with minimal downtime

Unlike traditional facelift surgery, FaceTite skin tightening and facial contouring doesn’t require an extensive recovery or a long period of downtime.

Although that’s partially because the treatment itself is minimally invasive, it’s also because the heat generated around the tip of the internal cannula coagulates blood vessels, helping to reduce post-procedure swelling, bruising, and discomfort.

Even though you can expect to see noticeable skin tightening and a renewed facial contour almost immediately, your results will continue to improve in the days, weeks, and months following treatment, as the collagen and elastin renewal process continues to unfold.

Although most women and men see outstanding results six months after the procedure, your results may continue to improve for up to a year.

If you’d like to start the New Year by turning back the hands of time, call our Jefferson Valley, New York office today, or use our convenient online booking feature to schedule a consultation with Dr. Thakur any time.
